Reading the Manual ----------------- Many users have expressed interest in being able to read Alderney’s manual on-screen. Well I’ve made their fondest wishes come true, since you can now read the entire Alderney User’s Manual without printing it out. When you first open the Alderney application and get through the introductions, you are presented with two windows. The smaller window at the bottom is just a reminder that Alderney isn’t free, and to pay for it. The larger window shows part of the title page to the Alderney User’s Manual. When you move the cursor over the larger window, it changes into a hand. Simply click and drag to see more of that page of the user’s manual, just like in MacPaint. When you are done reading a page, choose the Next Page command from the MANUAL menu. To go back, choose the Previous Page command. If you would like to be able to see more of the manual on screen, click anywhere in the smaller window and it will disappear and the window displaying the manual will enlarge to fill the entire screen. I hope you find this new addition useful, and if you have any comments on it, I’d love to hear them. I still recommend that you print the manual out, so you can see what Alderney looks like in print, and have a permanent reference manual. Oh, and don’t forget to print out the registration form!
